Bug Hotel News

Bug Blocks Competition Winner

Recently we ran a competition to win a set of 5 Bug Blocks. The winner was Katie from Lincoln.

She says her son loves them and has already found a home from them under a tree in their garden.

Here's a photo of the Bug Blocks in her garden. We hope the Bug Blocks get lots of visitors soon!

Bug Hotel and Local School

We recently donated a Bug Hotel to the Eco Team at a local school, Stonebroom Primary School.

The Eco Team of children and teachers are aiming to improve the environment of their school for wildlife and are trying to help the school be more eco-friendly.

Here's the quote from the school's newletter: (available to see from the homepage of the school's website, http://www.stonebroom.derbyshire.sch.uk/ )

'We are trying to improve our school grounds so that insects and birds visit. Marcus from www.bughotel.co.uk has donated a Bug Hotel to encourage bees into our vegetable garden which will pollinate our crops. Thank you Marcus!'

Everyone here at Bug Hotel hope the school's Bug Hotel gets lots of visitors soon, and we congratulate the children and teachers of the Eco Team on their work! Keep it up guys!

Bug Hotel in The Daily Mail

Last Saturday, 26/10/13, Bug Hotel made its first appearance in a national paper!

We were very excited to be chosen as one of the "5 of the best...Insect Houses", in the Daily Mail Weekend magazine. Here is a photo of the article.

We're so happy that our product was chosen, and we think that the photo shows off our products stylish and contemporary look, as well as its important use.

We'd like to thank the author of the article and the paper for publishing it. Hopefully this is the first of many appearances in national newspapers!

Bug Hotel at the Derby Folk Festival

Last weekend, Bug Hotel had a stand at the Derby Folk Festival. Check out a photo of our stand from the show below. We really enjoyed listening to all the great live music that was being preformed just next to the marquee we were in, and also seeing the dancing that took place as well.

It was the first time Bug Hotel had attended an event run by www.artsandcraftfairs.org and it was lovely to meet all the other fun and friendly stallholders. The event was really well run and all the people involved were great, so we'll definitely be doing another one of their events.

Check out their website, www.artsandcraftfairs.org for more details on dates and locations of their fairs, and hopefully we'll see you at one of them soon!

Competition winner's Bug Hotel

Recently we ran a competition to win a Mini Bug Cube. Our winner was Linda from St Helens.

Below is a photo she sent in of her Bug Hotel in her garden. She has also written a lovely little piece on her website: www.gardeningregisterblog.co.uk

Bug Hotel at a the Fair

During the recent Bank Holiday weekend, we had a stand at a local craft fair. It was great to meet and chat to people interested in Bug Hotel and our products. Also received lovely comments. Hope everyone who brought a Bug Hotel enjoys them and has lots of inhabitants soon! Here's a photo of our stand.
